I feel like I am 23.
I fully identify with this Monday through to Friday:
Aaron and I met on the London Underground. He walked past me at the station and I got onto his tube carriage as I wanted to see more of him. We were married in Sydney within a year of meeting. That was 12 years ago. He is amazing and enhances my life.
I rely on my instincts a lot.
I adore coffee. So it is perfect that we live next door to a coffee shop. The smell of coffee and noise of clinking cups often wakes me up at the weekend.
We love travelling. Especially to Australia (Aaron’s homeland). I lived in Istanbul for 2 years at the turn of the millennium – it is an amazing city. Great vibe.
I have a beautiful family. My nieces and nephews rock my world.
I love our apartment. Especially the jumble of artwork in our hallway. That sounds like we are fancy. We are not. Our collection comprises pieces from eBay; various street markets in London; pieces collected from our travels and photos found deep inside junk shops and then re-framed. Here are just a few of my favourite pieces:
I adore words. I am terrible at maths.
Even though I have lived in London for 16 years now, I grew up in the countryside. So I love empty spaces. Walking makes me feel amazingly happy. Especially rambling in the drizzle with my hood up.
My day job is being a lawyer. Which is why I named this blog Lexa. Lex = latin for law. I stuck the “a” on the end to make it more feminine. I like the way the combination of letters sit together on the white screen.
My name is actually Rachel.
This blog focuses on things that make my eyes, ears or heart, happy. Life is way too short not to flag up the fabulous things along the way.
I love reading other people’s blogs. And receiving comments on mine.
So do leave one and I will reply.
Ciao X
Felt inspired reading such a refreshing perspective of noticing the fabulous things in life x

Obviously as I am a woman, I still have to do the washing, empty the dishwasher, prepare for visitor tomorrow, go shopping, plan meals for the weekend, pay a bill, change the bed, clean the bathroom and chat to daughter on Skype, while fighting off the mother of all colds. But the medication has worked. Unlike TH who refuses all medication and cold remedies as he is a man, which also means he still can’t get out of bed or do the simplest things until this virulent flu strain has passed through his delicate body….

Awesome to be in contact with another lawyer blogging about non-legal stuff! I am looking forward to properly checking out your blog further. I would also love to hear more about being an assistant dean at a law school. Have you blogged about this yet? (Or is it a bit too difficult with anonymity etc?).
The internet connection at my parents over the long weekend wasn’t great so I am a bit behind on reading as many of your posts as I wanted to. But will as soon as I can.
